Custom Loudspeakers

One system, designed for one room

For studios, musicians and listeners who would rather have a high-end system designed for them than pick one from a catalogue.

I deliver complete active systems, with the loudspeakers, DSP and amplification designed and tuned together. Crossovers and equalisation are digital, since that's the most precise way to control a loudspeaker today. Where it helps, I add a few passive components to tame the drivers' break-up resonances before they turn into distortion.

What you get

From 2-way to 5-way

Anything from a simple pair of 2-way loudspeakers to a 4- or 5-way system without compromise, depending on your room and how you use it.

Linear-phase crossovers

Every system gets linear-phase FIR crossovers and time-aligned drivers. The drivers sum cleanly through the crossover region, and the system starts from a clean phase response before it meets your room. It's a deliberate choice, and I'm happy to explain it.

Hypex inside, by default

I prefer Hypex amplifiers for their quality, and their DSPs for the processing power that linear-phase FIR crossovers need. Other electronics are possible if you have a preference.

Directivity

I design the waveguides and cabinets by simulation and check them with polar measurements, so the off-axis response stays smooth.

Delivered ready to play

The system arrives tuned and ready to use. If you wish, I can also come and calibrate it in your room.

Adjustable over time

Because crossovers and equalisation are digital, the tuning can be refined later if your room or your needs change.

How it works

1. Listen

We talk about your room, your music, how you'll use the system, what you like and your budget.

2. Design

I choose the drivers and design the cabinets, waveguides and electronics, with simulations behind each choice.

3. Build & measure

Each driver is measured and the filters are designed in LinFIR.

4. Delivery

The system is delivered tuned. On-site installation and room calibration are available as an option.
